![]() *Via Corfu on specific dates during summer season only Two international crossings between Italy and Greece. With the Interrail 6-day Greek Islands Pass, you get: There are no international trips included in the Interrail 4-day Greek Islands Pass. Enjoy your trip.Superfast Ferries operates international services between Italy and Greece. Do whatever you can to get some rest, and bringing a small blanket wouldn't hurt either. This was the one segment of our trip where I didn't get much sleep (overnight ferry, about five hours), and the next day was difficult. Many people just stretched put on the floor. Once on the boat, if you have the "airline chairs" ticket, I suggest you bring some earplugs, since they have the t.v. Our group insisted on sitting in the waiting lounge with air conditioning - I think it was a Mistake. On the santorini to Athens route, if you are taking the night boat, I suggest sitting outside at the port waiting for the boat - good view of the lights of thira on the cliffs. There is no time to chat with you in English, etc. Some guests have complained that the crew herds you on and off the boats at a sprint, and this is largely true - but the "they have a schedule" note applies. We just took three ferries, from Athens to Chania, from iraklion to santorini, and from santorini back to Athens and I think the major takeaway here is that the ferry lines have to stay on schedule, they have a business to run, and if you have a longer route you are going on, it is worthwhile to invest in a small cabin (they have showers too). ![]() ![]() Rude lazy staff and lack of organisation summarises Blue Star Ferries. The cost of booked seats IS NOT WORTH the extra. Tried booking a cabin before the trip but was told it wasn't available. This boat is for shorter trips, not overnights. These is a lot more wrong with this company but I am tired of writing. They spread themselves all over the bench seats and get a good night's sleep whereas those of us in airplane style are sitting upright. The hundreds of folk travelling without fixed seats get the better deal. You would think the 100 people in one room would have access to a specific bathroom. Planning and organisation ? GO TO JAPAN TO SEE HOW IT'S DONE. Departure was then delayed because of " increased traffic requiring boarding". Then, when I get to my seat I find the recliner button missing. PLANNING and ORGANISATION do not seem to be words in the Blue Star vocabulary. Instead, you get the impression that the chaos is deliberate to maintain jobs jobs that could be abolished if there was just a little bit of planning and organisation. With just a tiny little bit of thought, the customer experience could be enjoyable. ARROGANCE is the best way to describe the overall attitude of the staff. There is NO CONSIDERATION for first time travellers on this route. There is an assumption that you should know. I'm here because THERE IS NOT ONE VISIBLE SIGN TO DIRECT ME TO THE RIGHT AREA !! Many people standing around looking flash in their fancy uniforms but not bothering to help people find their way. You go to reception, join another queue to then be TOLD you have airplane seats, you should not be here. When you ask, you are directed to the lift (which is around the corner) with an attitude of "are you an idiot". When I finally park the car on board, there are many signs to show were pedestrian traffic is not allowed but NOTHING to show where to exit the garage. Pedestrian traffic walking across the path of cars and trucks makes for a lot of fun. Conflicting instructions to drivers, being their best skill. It's too convoluted to explain in words the chaos that the dozen or so people racing around the dock with walkie talkies can create. I ended up in the wrong queue and told to just wait. Go, go, go was the order so I followed the cars in front who were being directed towards another queue on the other side of the port. 40mins later we are ORDERED to move to the end of another line. ![]() A man then came along checked my ticket and placed a KOS sign under the windscreen wiper. I joined a queue after asking other folk who were heading for Kos. No signage to indicate where vehicles should queue. Arrived at the port two hours ahead of departure time to give myself time given it was unfamiliar territory. Collected the tickets the day before departure. I wasted a lot of time trying but the website is not user friendly, so I gave up. It started when I was unable to book on-line.
